28th SCATE 2021 (The Digital Edition), MDA Mentor-Mentee Programme

The 28th Scientific Conference & Trade Exhibition (SCATE 2021) – The Digital Edition was held from 5th March till 9th March 2021. Due to the current pandemic, we had our very first virtual dental conference in Malaysia. The special point of this conference was we got to access the virtual conference free for 30 days after registration. SCATE is one of the conferences whereby we had the MDA Mentor-Mentee Programme. This year, the number of participants of MDA Mentor-Mentee Programme was reduced as not much manpower was needed for the virtual conference. However, there are still 13 mentees who participated in this event.

An ice-breaking session was held virtually through an online platform (Zoom). The purpose of the session was for the mentees to connect and foster networks among each other. Besides, the programme also gave an opportunity for the mentees to attend online lectures by well-known speakers and visit virtual exhibitions which was an eye-opening experience. By the end of this programme, students had definitely learned something new and interesting out of the textbooks, be it their development of leadership skills, boosting their confidence or even enhancing their communication skills.
