World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2023 Videography Competition

The World Oral Health Day (WOHD) this year is just around the corner! Grab this opportunity to leave your mark by participating in the photography competition organized by the Malaysian Dental Students’ Association (MDSA) in collaboration with Malaysian Dental Association (MDA), supported by Oral Health Programme, Ministry Of Health Malaysia to increase the oral health awareness in Malaysia.

A. Theme: Be Proud of your Mouth. Look after your oral health for a lifetime of smiles.

B. Submission deadline : February 15th-28th, before 5pm

C. Rules and Regulations/Submission Guidelines: 

  1. The video should be vertical, with 1080 x 1920 dimensions and aspect ratio 9:16 (standard smartphone screen), .mp4 or .mov files.

  2. Ensure that the Instagram account is not private before submitting the link to the video via Google Forms so that the judges are able to view your submission. 

  3. Ensure to include background of the National Oral Health Policy (NOHPol): https://bit.ly/WOHD_2023_NOHPol

  4. Ensure that both hashtags #BeProudOfYourMouth #NatioanlOralHealthPolicy are included in the Instagram reels 

  5. Participants are free to use any method to create a video

  6. Video length should be within 60 seconds

  7. Participants are requested to keep their footage to prove that the entry is an original work

  8. The video can be done in Bahasa Malaysia, English or both languages. 

  9. One entry (either individual or a team) is restricted to only one (1) submission. For Teams, team members must not exceed 5 people.

  10. Video should not promote any specific product or brands

  11. Not involving sensitive issues including religion, race and politics.

  12. Action in the video should be decent and according to society norms.

  13. The use of celebrities or other individuals should be consented. Reimbursement of any kind for the photography session will not be borne by the organizer.

  14. The organizers have the right to reject entry or withdraw the prize if pictures sent were found to be of duplicated origin, obtained through the internet or found to be infringing protected copyrights.

  15. All entries sent are the sole property of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MoH), Malaysia Dental Association (MDA) and Malaysian Dental Students’ Association (MDSA). These organizations have the rights to use the picture for promotional and educational purposes such as posters, flyers, books, websites etc.

Original Work

We reserve the right to request for evidence that your entry is your original artwork created solely by you. Your entry will be disqualified if you do not comply with this rule.

Copyright Law

Any production depicting copyrighted images will be rejected. For example, no artwork depicting characters from television shows, movies, video games, or books will be accepted. All artwork must be original ideas and solely created by the participants.

Number of Submissions

One entry (either individual or a team) is restricted to only one (1) submission. For Teams, team members must not exceed 5 people. Contestants who are not contacted within 1 month after the deadline are considered as not successful and are encouraged to try again next year.

D. Prizes:

Cash prizes will be awarded to  the winners.  1st place -RM 800 2nd place -RM 500 3rd place- RM 300 Consolation Prize x2 RM 200
